Incentive Amounts
The American Lung Association of the Northeast (ALANE) offers homeowners $1,000-$2,000 vouchers to replace an uncertified wood burning appliances with an EPA certified stove, pellet stove, or gas stove. Voucher amounts vary by region and income. Efficiency Maine also offers $500 incentives for state residents who purchase EPA certified wood or pellet stoves below a specified emissions limit.

Program Duration
The program is ongoing until funds are depleted.       

Procedure
To receive a voucher, applicants must submit an application along with a photo of the old appliance to ALANE. If approved, applicants present a voucher to an approved retailer who handles the device installation and disposal.   

Requirements
Self-installations are prohibited for all programs. Only one incentive is available per homeowner per primary residence. Workplaces, rental, seasonal, or part-time residents are ineligible. All applications must be mailed and are processed by post mark date. No retroactive vouchers are allowed.
