Woodstove Replacement Program

Incentive Amounts
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will replace a West Silver Valley homeowner’s uncertified wood stoves with a certified wood stove, pellet stove, natural gas device, or propane device from eligible retailers at little or no cost to the homeowner. Costs are capped at $4,000 for a new certified wood stove, $4,200 for a pellet stove, $3,800 for natural gas or propane, and $4,200 for an electric heat pump. Applications are prioritized by location, income level, and order received.
Program Duration
The program is ongoing until September 2020, or until funds are depleted.
Procedure
Homeowners must first complete an application to the DEQ. The DEQ will visit the home to verify eligibility and homeowners will receive a letter notifying that they have been accepted. Afterwards, homeowners will work with a participating vendor to replace their old device. The DEQ will inspect the home twice after installation.
Requirements This program is open only to homeowners. Self-installation is prohibited. Old stoves must be disposed.
