Summary: Sales and uses of [wood] to be used for residential purposes are exempt from the 4% state sales and use taxes and the ⅜% sales and use taxes imposed in the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District (MCTD).

Past Incentive: Renewable Heat NY Small Biomass Boiler Program - The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) provided incentives toward the installed costs of high-efficiency, low-emission wood heating systems from 2019 to 2021.
