Wood stoves and

energy audits

Unlike all other combustion devices, the DOE has never set national standards for inspecting wood stoves during energy audits or weatherization programs. As a result, many states have little or no guidance on how wood stores should be inspected and homeowners are not getting written reports on the safety of their stove as they get for their boiler or furnace.

The Alliance for Green Heat’s mission is to promote cleaner and more efficient wood and pellet heating. While our primary focus is on the technology and the regulatory environment around combustion, the sustainable supply and use of firewood and pellets is also paramount to our mission.

About us

The Alliance for Green Heat promotes modern wood and pellet heating systems as a low-carbon, sustainable and affordable energy solution.

Founded in Maryland in 2009, the Alliance is an independent non-profit organization and is tax-exempt under section 501c3 of the tax code.
